Welcome to Change Collective
Welcome to the Change Collective resource hub - where you can find materials by young people or for young people on how to fight for justice in the education system, tackling racism, sexism, classism, ableism, queerphobia, adultism and how to take action on important issues like climate justice. These resources are primarily aimed at those currently in or recently leaving the UK secondary education system (or in alternative education/ homeschooling), however there are plenty of useful tools for adult educators, activists and others trying to fight for a fairer society.
Collective: a group of people or things sharing a common interest, or working together to achieve a common goal. Change Collective brings together the work of young people and their allies fighting for a more just education system. We platform resources, and work with our partner organisations to put on events, facilitate networks and provide training for young people.
Who are Change Collective?
Change Collective is facilitated by Phoenix Education, a UK charity which promotes democratic, human-centred and rights-respecting practices and structures, where student voice matters, and young people influence their experience of education.
Phoenix Education also coordinates Changemakers Lab, a coaching and training programme equipping changemakers age 14-18 to start their own campaigns, and Freedom to Learn, a network exploring educational alternatives and promoting human-centred and rights-respecting practice in education in the UK. Employees and young people from all the Phoenix Education projects have come together to create the Change Collective resource hub to pool and share resources for changemaking in the education system, and encourage cross-campaign, cross-organisational working.
